April is a pivotal period of time for species to nest safely. Register below to volunteer for String Day! Meet at the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center, and help provide a safe habitat for the expected nesting areas of the endangered Piping Plover, Threatened Least Tern, and Common Tern.

Volunteer tasks include:

• Fence Crews who learn a special knot and flag posts for symbolic fencing

• Sign Crews who put up signs to alert the public that this is a protected nesting area

• Beach Cleanup Crews that help get our beaches ready for birds to nest safety
