Plants & Animals (Grades K-2)
Jones Beach is home to diverse plants and animals that have adapted to live in a harsh and dynamic ecosystem. This program will introduce students to different types of plants on Jones Beach Island and some of the animals that depend on them.
Hognose snakes, birds, red foxes, native flowers, pine trees, and dune grasses are just some of the species present here. Join us for a hike through nature to learn why these plants and animals are so suited to life by the beach!
